The Annual GPCA Forum, the flagship event of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), has earned its reputation as the premier gathering of the chemical and petrochemical industry in the Arabian Gulf region. Since its inception 17 years ago, this forum has evolved to become a pivotal event on the global chemical industry calendar. It serves as a crucial platform where industry professionals from around the world convene to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and build valuable networks.
The 18th Annual GPCA Forum was held for the first time at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in Muscat, Oman, from December 2-5, 2024. This year’s edition not only expanded in size but also in importance, drawing a wide range of participants, including senior executives, decision-makers, and experts from the chemical and petrochemical industries. By fostering collaboration and dialogue, the Annual GPCA Forum has cemented its role as a key platform for leadership and strategic discussions in the chemical and petrochemical sectors, both regionally and globally.
GPCA was pleased to announce its 3rd edition of the GPCA Youth Forum, which was held alongside the 18th Annual GPCA. By sharing knowledge with university students and young professionals, the forum was led by the GPCA Youth Council, which consisted of 32 young professionals from 18 GPCA member companies across the Arabian Gulf. Industry leaders led sessions to discuss the role of youth in empowering tomorrow across various sectors, offering valuable insights and fostering meaningful conversations.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Mulla, our Managing Director and CEO, held a keynote session titled “Synergy in Action Between Academia and the Chemical Industry,” exploring how collaboration between academia and the chemical industry fosters innovation and drives sustainable growth. Dr. Al-Mulla discussed building partnerships to address industry challenges, developing young talent, and aligning academic curricula with the demands of a sustainable future. The session provided valuable insights for youth interested in pursuing careers at the intersection of academia and industry.
